The Boring Bit
Privacy policy.
How we look after the information you share with us.
Last updated: 6 May 2026
Who we are
Bailey & Blossom is a creative wedding florist run by Gaynor Lawson, based on the borders of Kent, Surrey and East Sussex. We design wedding florals for couples across Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, Bailey & Blossom is the data controller of any personal information you share with us through this website.
What we collect
We only collect the personal information you choose to share with us through our enquiry form. This typically includes:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (if you choose to provide it)
- Your wedding date, venue and approximate guest count (if known)
- Approximate budget (if you choose to share)
- Anything else you tell us in the message field
We do not collect any data automatically beyond what your browser sends to view the site (for example, your IP address, which is handled by our hosting provider — see “Hosting” below).
Why we collect it
The information you share through the enquiry form is used solely to respond to your enquiry, discuss your wedding, and — if you decide to book us — deliver our floristry service for your day.
The lawful basis for processing this data is consent (you choose to share the information by submitting the form) and, where you become a client, contractual necessity (we need it to deliver the service you’ve booked).
Who we share it with
We do not sell or share your personal information with any third party for marketing purposes.
In the normal course of providing our service, your information may be shared with:
- Suppliers we work with on your wedding (for example, your venue or photographer) — only the details necessary for them to coordinate with us on the day
- Our hosting and form-handling provider, Netlify (see below), which processes the form submission
We will never share your data more widely without first asking you.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t progress to a booking: kept for up to 12 months in case you re-enquire, then deleted.
- Bookings: kept for the duration of our work together, plus seven years afterwards (in line with HMRC record-keeping requirements for self-employed businesses).
- You can ask us to delete your data at any time — see “Your rights” below.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct any information that’s inaccurate
- Delete your information (the “right to be forgotten”)
- Restrict how we use it
- Object to our processing of it
- Move your data to another service (data portability)
To exercise any of these rights, just email us at baileyandblossom@gmail.com. We’ll respond within 30 days.
If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or by phone on 0303 123 1113.
Hosting and form processing
This website is hosted by Netlify, and our enquiry form is processed by Netlify Forms. When you submit the form, your information is transmitted securely to Netlify’s servers and forwarded to our email. Netlify is GDPR-compliant — their privacy policy is available at netlify.com/privacy.
This site uses Google Fonts to display its typography. Google Fonts is loaded from Google’s servers, which means Google may log your IP address when you visit the site. We have no control over what Google does with this — for details, see Google’s privacy policy.
Cookies
This website does not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. The only technical use of cookies is by Netlify to manage form submissions, which are essential to the form’s function.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes.
